Le marquis de La Fayette fut en 1777 le premier français à être nommé Major Général par le « Congrès » après avoir rejoint volontairement les « Insurgés » des 13 colonies anglaises d’Amérique pour les aider dans leur lutte pour l’indépendance, déclarée unilatéralement le 4 juillet 1775, et a surtout réussi à convaincre le roi de France Louis XVI d’aider leur insurrection en envoyant un corps expéditionnaire de plus de 5 000 hommes. Il a soutenu la cause des Insurgés dans les moments les plus difficiles, jusqu’à ce que les troupes françaises sous le commandement du comte de Rochambeau et la flotte de l’amiral de Grasse rejoignent les forces « américaines » et permettent la victoire finale de Yorktown, VA en 1781. Cette participation de la France dans la révolution américaine et la création des États-Unis d’Amérique a scellé une amitié indissoluble entre les deux peuples, plus forte que les époques troublée dans leurs histoires, comme en témoignent les deux interventions décisives menées aux côtés de la France et de l’Europe lors des deux dernières guerres mondiales. Une page d’histoire à laquelle de nombreux Canadiens français de l’époque ont participé avec bravoure et honneur, dont le célèbre Major Clément Gosselin natif de l’Ile d’Orléans, Québec. Canada. The Marquis de La Fayette was the first Frenchman in 1777 commissioned Major General by the « Congress », as he came to serve as a volunteer to aid the “Insurgents” of the 13 English colonies of America in their fight for independence unilaterally declared on July 4th, 1775, and has mostly succeeded in convincing the King of France Louis XVI to help the Insurgents with an expeditionary force of over 5,000 men. He supported the Insurgents cause in its most difficult moments until the French troops under the command of Count de Rochambeau and the fleet of Admiral de Grasse joined the « American forces” and permit to secure the independence of the 13 colonies at the final victory at Yorktown, in 1781. This intervention of France during the American Revolution and the creation of the United States of American sealed an indissoluble friendship between the two people, stronger than the troubled times in their history, as shown by the two decisive interventions on the side of France and Europe during the last two world wars. A page of history to which many French Canadians of the time participated with bravery and honor, including the famous Major Clément Gosselin native of Ile d’Orleans, Quebec. Canada.

L’Association Ordre Lafayette fondée en France en 1999 a pour objet d’entretenir, de développer et de renforcer les liens d’amitié existants entre les ressortissants de la France et des États-Unis d’Amérique et plus généralement ceux de l’Union Européenne. C’est une association apolitique, non-syndicale et non-confessionnelle.
*Fondée à l’initiative de personnalités françaises issues d’horizon divers dont un gestionnaire, un artisan, un ancien militaire historien, un ancien consul.
*Parmi les fondateurs; Messieurs Arsène Schaeffer, Jean-Noël Vincent et Raymond Najberg tous présidents d’association vont incarner au cours des années la vie de la nouvelle association.
*Depuis sa création, l ‘Association Ordre Lafayette France a développé en France plusieurs « délélgations' » et une en Belgique. Les membres de l’association non-résidents en France étant regroupés dans un comité dit « International ». http://www.ordrelafayette.org

The Objective of the Association Ordre Lafayette founded in France in 1999 is to maintain and promote the existing bonds of friendship between the citizens of France and the United States of America and of the European Union. It is a non-political, non-union and non-religious association.
*Founded at the initiative of French personalities from different backgrounds including a manager, a craftsman, a former military historian, a former consul.
*Among the founders, Messrs. Arsene Schaeffer, Jean-Noël and Vincent Raymond Najberg all association presidents will embody the past decades the life of the association.

ARTICLE I – NAME
The name of this corporation is ORDRE LAFAYETTE ORDER – AMERICA CORP., a corporation not for profit;
ARTICLE II – PRINCIPAL OFFICE
The mailing address of the corporation shall be 2117 Hollywood Blvd. Hollywood, FL 33 020;
ARTICLE III – PURPOSE
The purpose of said corporation is to maintain and promote the existing bonds of friendship between the citizens of the United States of America and of the European Union, and in particular, of France, for geographical and historical reasons , in particular Lafayette memory, and to carry on all the necessary activities to reach the goals of the corporation;
*To perpetuate the memory of General Marquis de La Fayette and to encourage and inspire the friendship between these two nations and their peoples and all the Nations
This is a non-political, non-union and non-religious organization.
ARTICLE IV – QUALIFICATION OF MEMBERS
The qualification for memberships will be determined by the by-laws;

ARTICLES VIII – BOARD OF DIRECTORS ELECTIONS
The Board of Directors shall be elected by the membership at each annual meeting of the members.
ARTICLE IX – OFFICERS
The legal affairs of the corporation shall be managed by the officers who shall be elected at the annual meeting each year to serve for the ensuing year. The officers of the corporation shall serve until their respective successor in office shall be elected and duly qualified.
ARTICLE X –REVENUE
No part of the net earnings of the corporation shall inure to the benefit of or be distributable to its members, Directors, officers or other private persons, except that the corporation shall be authorized and empowered to pay reasonable compensation for services rendered and to make payments and distributions in furtherance of the purposes set forth in Article III hereof. The corporation shall note in any way, directly or indirectly, carry on propaganda or otherwise attempt to influence legislation, or participate or intervene in any political campaign on behalf of any candidate for public office, by publishing or distributing statements or otherwise, Notwithstanding any other provisions of these Articles, the corporation shall not carry on nay other activities not permitted to be carried on (a) by a corporation exempt from Federal income Tax under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 (or the corresponding provision of any future United States Internal Revenue Law), or (b) by a corporation, contributions to which are deductible under Section 170 (c) (2) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 (or the corresponding provision of any future United State Revenue Law).
ARTICLE XI – DISSOLUTION
Upon the dissolution of the corporation, the Board of Directors shall, after paying or making provision for the payment of all the liabilities of the corporation, dispose of all the assets of the corporation exclusively for the purpose of the corporation in such manner or to such organization or organization organized and operated exclusively for charitable. Educational, religious, or scientific purpose as shall at the time qualify as an exempt organisation or organization under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code 1986 (or the corresponding provision of any future United State Internal Revenue Law), as the Board of Directors shall determine. Any of such asset not so disposed of shall be disposed of by the Circuit Court of the county in which the principal office of the corporation is then located, exclusively for such purposes or to such organization or organizations, as said Court shall determine, which are organized and operated exclusively for such purposes.
